America’s  Best Christian Colleges ® is produced annually by
Institutional Research & Evaluation, Inc., an independent research
and consulting organization specializing in the recruiting and
retention of students for institutions of higher education. Consistent
with its mission, and as a guide by which institutions may be compared, each year IR&E, Inc. identifies the American colleges
and universities providing students the highest quality education in
a Christian environment.

No college or university paid to be included in this report.
Institutions are included solely on the basis of merit.

Upon the analysis and review of the 22nd Annual National College Survey Institutional Research & Evaluation, Inc. designates the following institutions as  America’s  Best Christian Colleges ® this

Procedures and Methodology

To qualify for America’s Best  Christian Colleges ®
an institution must:
(1)   be an accredited, four-year institution offering bachelor degrees.
(2)   offer full residential facilities including residence halls and dining services.
(3)   have had an entering freshman class in the fall of 2011 with a high school grade point average (GPA) and/or SAT/ACT score equal to or above the national average for all freshmen entering Christian institutions of higher education.
(4)   be affiliated with a recognized Christian denomination, or claim current or historical association with, or be governed by a recognized Christian denomination, or be an interdenominational institution providing an educational experience incorporating basic Christian principles and beliefs into the instructional curriculum and/or social environment.

Eligibility for America’s  Best Christian Colleges ® is determined from the results of the 22nd Annual National College Survey conducted by Institutional Research & Evaluation, Inc.. The survey form was submitted to the offices of the directors of admissions at 1,447 four-year colleges  and universities with facilities for room and board. The survey was conducted between April 1 and July 31, 2012. A total of 1,027 schools responded of which 279 were Christian institutions of higher education.

GPA - The high school grade point average based on a
4.0 scale and upon the average for all freshmen entering the
institution in the fall of 2011. GPA results are reported
to an accuracy of two decimal places.

            Survey results showed that the high school GPA
            for freshmen entering Christian institutions in the
            fall of 2011 was 3.31.

SAT – Scholastic Assessment Test score is the average reported
score in critical reading and mathematics for freshmen entering
the institution in the fall of 2011.

            Survey results showed that the average SAT score
            for freshmen entering Christian institutions in the
            fall of 2011 was 1069.

ACT -  American College Testing Program score is the average
reported score for freshmen entering the institution in the fall
of  2011. ACT results are reported to an accuracy of one decimal place, and scores are rounded to the nearest whole number.

            Survey results showed that the average ACT score
            for freshmen entering Christian institutions in the
            fall of 2011 was 22.
